GENERAL EVENT QUESTIONS

Can I get my photo taken with a guest?
We recognise that getting a photo with a guest can be a highlight to any fans day. Therefore, when you meet the guest to obtain your autograph, there is no further charge for taking a photo with them. However, as the day progresses, it does sometimes become necessary to stop photos in order that the guests can get through and meet more people, otherwise there would be fans that would go home not having met them at all.

Please also bear in mind that whilst guests are generally happy to pose for photos with fans, there may be occasions where they decline. If this happens please do respect their wishes.

May I use my video-camera?
The use of video cameras is permitted in the dealers room, although we would advise asking someone's permission before filming them. All we ask is that you use your discretion and not to film anyone that doesn't want to be filmed (this goes for fans, staff and dealers as well as guests).

Video Cameras and video/sound recording equipment (including the use of recording facilities on mobile phones) is NOT allowed into Guest Talks or screenings. This is for a number of reasons both legal and practical.

Can I take photos during guest talks?
We would please ask that during the talks you confine any flash photography to the first 5 minutes of the talk, as this can cause a distraction and be very off-putting to the guest and the rest of the audience.

Can I give a guest a present?
There is no problem with giving gifts. Please do be aware that the guests rarely take these things with them when they leave. Basically don't waste your money on anything too expensive. Either go for something they may like to eat or drink (sweets, chocolate, beer, but not home made things as they're unlikely to eat them as they won't know what's in them). Or give them something different and personal. I know one girl on here that gives people vegetables. Sounds odd but they remember her and that's the point really, you want them to remember you from the crowd. Trust me you'll get the same positive reaction out of a £1 bag of sweets or a 4 pack of beer as you will out of a £10 generic teddy bear and they're more likely to enjoy the sweets, than to take the bear home.

Guests are subject to work commitments and may cancel at any time. Guests are charging for autographs. Not all guests are signing on all days.
